The college guidance program is developmental and structured to provide the latest information about college admission to parents and students. This is accomplished through individual meetings, classroom guidance, parent programs and school mailings. The guidance department's goal is to match the abilities and aspirations of the individual student with the resources of a post-secondary school.

Colleges visiting Chanel
Representatives from Colleges, Universities and the Military will be visiting Chanel this fall and providing information about their programs in the conference room. Students interested in attending a presentation MUST SIGN UP AT LEAST ONE DAY IN ADVANCE in the main office. Students will receive a pass in homeroom the day of the presentation, and their names will be listed on the attendance sheet. Attendance is taken at the presentation. Students will not be allowed to sign up the same day as the presentation.
A schedule of dates and times will be posted on a stand in the hallway outside the main office. The sign up sheet is in the main office and students must be signed up by 3 p.m. the day before the presentation. All presentations will be in the conference room unless otherwise stated. The presentations are no longer than one period.
Students should see Mrs. Holly-Brown in the guidance office if they have questions or cannot attend a presentation but would like to get the information.

NCAA Eligibility Center
All students who plan to enroll in a Division I or Division II college and want to participate in athletics or receive an athletic scholarship must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center by visiting the Registration Link. You will need to notify the guidance office after you have registered and fill out a transcript request form in order for your official transcript to be sent to the Eligibility Center. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Holly-Brown in the guidance office.
SAT & ACT Testing
Seniors who have not taken the ACT or SAT need to register ASAP. Students who are on free or reduced lunch are eligible for a fee waiver for both ACT and SAT, and for their college applications. Students having difficulty registering for the ACT or SAT should come to the guidance office for assistance.
