Chanel offers courses that earn college credit without leaving campus! Click here for course descriptions
St. Peter Chanel High School is in partnership with Cuyahoga Community College offering the Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEOP) and a Dual Credit Program. Students who attend St. Peter Chanel will be able to earn college credit while taking courses at Chanel, without having to leave the Chanel campus. The Tri-C courses being offered at Chanel include: U.S. History to 1877, U.S. History Since 1877, Composition & Grammar 1 & 2, British Literature 1 & 2, Fundamentals of Speech, General Psychology Principles of Macroeconomics, American National Government, with more offerings being considered for the future. These courses are included in the core curriculum of most major colleges.
The credits earned in these programs are transferable to any college in the country that accepts credits from Tri-C. A student who takes part in this program and passes the courses could earn up to twenty-four college credit hours. This could provide an estimated savings of $3,300 to $17,500 in college costs. With PSEOP, there is no cost to parents. Those in the Dual Credit Program pay tuition to Tri-C and reimbursed by Chanel. Any cost associated with this program is included in tuition paid to St. PeterChanel High School.
Each student must pass an entrance test administered by Tri-C to be admitted into the various courses. St. Peter Chanel is extremely excited about the opportunity to offer this unique program to our students. Chanel students now have the opportunity to take multiple courses and receive both high school and college credit.
And as another scholarship opportunity, you can compete in The Flame Writing and Drawing Contest. Our school newspaper, The Flame, offers seventh and eighth grade students the chance to earn scholarship money by submitting original work. Click here for contest rules and submission forms.
